En France, le casque n'est obligatoire qu'en compétition. Pourtant la fédération française de cyclotourisme incite vivement les pratiquants à porter un casque. Il est indispensable d'équiper les enfants car ils sont les plus exposés aux chutes à vélo, surtout en période d'apprentissage, car ils n'ont pas encore d'équilibre suffisant.
- Conseils pour choisir un bon casque :
- Choisir un modèle léger, bien ventilé et confortable.
- Un casque qui a subit un choc n'est plus efficace à 100% et doit être remplacé.
